Community gardening is the best way to garden! What can be better than meeting up with your friends at the garden, learning to grow organic vegetables and fruits, getting some fresh air and outdoors exercise, and most of all helping to meet the need of families at the food pantry with fresh, just picked produce. With support from the City of Coppell, the organization and gardens are maintained with an all volunteer effort. Here is how we got started...
The Coppell Community Garden was highlighted in the October 5, 2010 10 o'clock news spotlight on "Grow your own trend". Filming from Helping Hands Garden on a very HOT day in August, where Cindy Geppert, Garden Chair, picked peppers, and Mary Karish, Garden Chair 2011, shared thoughts on growing your own vegetables. Take a look at the video.
